Executive Team

Mr. Zahar joined SOS in November 2020 and holds the key position of CEO since Jan 2022.

He has over 21 years international and local diverse experience in the Oil and Gas industry working and managing multi discipline teams. He started his career with Schlumberger as MWD and LWD Field Engineer working offshore Brazil in 2002. In 2006, he was transferred to Gabon in West Africa as Directional Drilling Engineer. He was then transferred to Angola as Rotary Steerable Champion in 2008 supporting drilling operations in Angola, South Africa, and East Africa.

By the end of 2010, Zahar was transferred to Oman as Field Services Manager to support drilling and measurements operation following his personal request. In 2013, he was assigned as Regional Recruiting Manager for Schlumberger covering Oman, Qatar, Pakistan, Yemen, Egypt, and South Sudan. He was assigned as Sales Planning Transformation Manager in 2016 to help deploy new sales and commercials initiatives. In 2017, he was assigned as Account Manager for Schlumberger Oman to support with business development. He left Schlumberger and joined SOS in November, 2020.

Zahar holds BS in Industrial Engineering from Louisiana State University and Executive MBA from Vienna University of Economics and Business.

Mr. Sastry has an overall experience of over 30 years. He has held managerial positions in various capacities in areas including finance, IT, strategic planning and marketing & business development.

Sastry's last assignment was with Taageer, a public listed Company with investors such as Oman Investment Fund, TAIC – KSA, Govt Pension Funds, etc., as Head of Finance.

Chartered Accountant from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in Science from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India.

Mr. Ahmed Hilal Al Maawali has 15 years of experience in the energy sector and has worked in various countries in Asia and the Middle East.

Having graduated in 2008 from the Sultan Qaboos University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Ahmed joined SLB in Indonesia as a Field Engineer. Over the years he steadily progressed within the organization. Before taking on the position as Business Development and ICV Manager in 2022, he held various managerial and leadership positions in Operations, Sales, and Operations Planning.
